How much should you charge for your service?
Work it out three ways: from your hourly rate, against market prices, or from what your work is worth to the client. You see the minimum price and the formula too. Free, no sign-up; your numbers stay in this browser only.
How do you price?
- By the hour: From your hourly rate and the time a job takes.
- Fixed price, against the market: What others charge, and where you stand among them.
- By value: What the result earns or saves the client.
How does the price calculator work?
By the hour: the minimum price is your hourly rate times the hours the job takes, plus its direct costs. The suggested price is 15% higher, leaving room for revisions and hours you cannot bill.
Against the market: you enter what others charge for similar work and where you stand among them. As a beginner the suggestion sits in the lower quarter of the range, as an expert in its upper part. If you also enter your time, it never goes below the minimum price.
By value: it starts from what the result earns or saves the client in a year, and you charge a share of that. If you do not know what hourly rate you need, the life-goal calculator works it out.
